Educational Services
Galerie Verticale is actively involved in exposing young people to modern art. With the goal of creating connections between artists, students, teachers and the gallery, this artist-run centre offers guided tours of its current exhibits for high-school, college and university groups.
High Schools Phase One An artist from Galerie Verticale meets students in class to speak with them about the gallery and its exhibits in order to introduce students to modern art prior to their visit.
Phase Two
An individual with an art history background and the exhibiting artist offer high-school groups a guided tour of the exhibits and a short presentation on the gallery. The tour will be followed by a hands-on workshop that offers young people the chance to try one of the practices dealt with in the exhibits. Maximum of 30 people. Duration: 90 minutes (to be determined with the teacher).
Colleges and Universities
We offer college and university groups a guided tour of the exhibits and a short presentation about the gallery and artist-run centre’s operations, followed by a discussion about one of the themes dealt with in the exhibits. The tour will be led by a member of the gallery who has a solid background in visual arts or art history and by one of the exhibiting artists. |
Rental Services
Galerie Verticale offers rental of its gallery space and multimedia projector.
Gallery Rental
La Galerie Verticale Art Contemporain, the gallery of the Société des Arts Visuels de Laval, rents its exhibition space for events such as conferences, meetings and book launches. The gallery, located in the heart of Laval, is available on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and every evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost of renting the gallery is $75.00 for three hours, including:
- Rental of the gallery (1,210 square feet) - 3 tables - 1 microphone and tripod (on request) - 50 chairs - Indoor parking (6 spaces) and outdoor parking A gallery staff member is available to help set up the room, greet visitors and present current exhibits for an additional charge of $15.00/hour. If you are looking for a “different” setting for your next event, it would be our pleasure to welcome you and introduce you to the work of the artists of the Société des Arts Visuels de Laval.
